lowering a 1.4, queries with cupra shocks

hi,

i have recenty lowered my 1.4 ibiza with cupra shocks and lowered springs, i bought them together from a friend who also fitted them for me,

the ride feels very good considering its on springs, doesnt bounce, doesnt bodyroll round corners,

the only problem is i would like the car to be slightly lower and i just wondered,

if i had put the lowered springs on my standard 1.4 shocks would the car of been lower?,

i have heard that the cupra shocks are actually higher than standard 1.4 shocks due to the cupra having extra weight,

can anyone confirm this as im considering putting my old shocks back on with the lowered springs,

thanks

I wouldn't say the cupra shocks are taller. More that they are stiffer therefore can handle the extra weight, and produce better handling.

I wouldn't put lowering springs onto your 1.4 shocks as they WILL be bouncy and crashy.

If you want to go low the only option is coilovers, or 60mm springs, but if your going that low the shocks won't be able to handle it and you will knacker them VERY quickly!

Go coilovers if you're really wanting to go lower ;)

i am currently in the middle of doing the deal with hottuning, (last set i bought from them for my mk3 golf only cost me £100) so soon it will be slammed :)
