Lower or Standard

Right, yesterday I set about sortin the exhaust on the car. Once that was done, me and my mate was going to replace the suspension bearing that I was told by a garage had gone.

Upon taking of the strut etc, we find that it's not the bearings that have gone, albeit they weren't in the right place, but only the bloody spring had snapped at the top! I've been driving with that a few months now, and according to my mate, I'm lucky the spring hasn't just popped off yet and sent the drivers front side crashing to the ground!

Anyway, was wondering, should I order one standard spring at £32 +VAT and keep the ride standard? Or by lowering springs? If so, how much would I be looking at? And due to funds being tight at the mo, if I do lower it, I was just gonna lower the front! A few cars do tend to be lower at the front than back (by few, I mean sports :D). But my mate said if I was to do that, then the back end would be/feel lighter, therefore causing it to step out more.

So what do you think I should do? Lower, or keep standard? And also could anyone give me a rough price on lowering?

Cheers

1 new spring may not settle with the other one too well, i'd say both should have been replaced. (Probably not neccesary, but i would have done it)

Just make sure you dont drive all the way into a space, and leave a good 6 inches between you and the kerb. Either that or try and reverse into spaces that have kerbs...

Springs have now been ordered. Should arrive monday. £69.99 is better than £32 +VAT for one :D
