Low Oil Pressure Warning/Noise Only when cornering hard

Hey All!

Really sorry, I don't think this has been asked just like this, as done some searching but not found anything.

I have had an issue that seems to have been getting progressively worse. It started with just a warning if I took a corner REALLY hard and has gotten to a stage where if you take a round about at 30 MPH, it will come up with the error and twice it made a rattle like noise.

There are no issues in a straight line, and I stopped driving it straight after this noise occurred. A garage took the sump off, and said no metal filings were in the sump so didn't think it was the pump and the pickup pipe was clear.

They believe it's some sort of sensor that sprays oil onto the chain, at the top of the cam (around that area) but they said they weren't able to do it.

I am not 100% confident in what they have suggested, and obviously the oil level has been checked by them and us, and is pefect (and was re-topped up after Sump removed.

Has anyone else had this issue/resolved it somehow? I am driving something else at the moment, and although it's not the best car in the world, I am missing my Leon FR and it's only done around 55,000 Miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming your engine is 2.0 tfsi then I think the jet/s your garage is talking about are the ones that spray the bottoms of the pistons not the cam...

I wouldn’t of had the sump taken off without replacing the pick up pipe regardless of garage saying it wasn’t blocked...

A check with VCDS should reveal if it’s a faulty sensor Issue, if it doesn’t then I’d pull the sump again, change pick up pipe (make sure you buy a genuine one) refit and change the oil for a decent brand 5w40 and also change the oil filter and then see how it goes from there
