Low oil light on but plenty of oil

My low oil light (yellow) came on yesterday while driving on the motorway. I had some oil in the boot so I topped it up a little, without even looking at the dipstick first. The manual says the light resets when the bonnet is open, but mine stayed on. I then checked the level and it is fine, possibly even a little over the maximum where I topped it up. The light is still on. COuld it be a faulty sensor (although I think it says in the manual that if flashses if it is faulty)? Or does it also indicate if something else is low? Low power steering fluid or something?

I'd recommend getting it looked at if you're unsure, as oil starvation is a sure fire way to do some serious damage to an engine.

Get it to a dealer asap, lowe oil pressure can really mess things up, my old 1.6 astra seized within 5 miles of the light coming on!!

It's been serviced today. They said all is well, but it has logged a couple of faulty readings from the sensor which could have been a blockage or possibly the beginnings of a faulty sensor.

They managed to service my car without breaking anything and they even gave it a full valet which was a nice surprise.
