On top on the non functioning aircon, my SEAT logo boot release decided to pack up at the worst possible time trapping my friends luggage in when I dropped them at the airport

If I stretch my mind back, this faulty boot release has been mentioned before?

Not good that a few things are starting to play up in the last year of the warranty. Even worse that I have to travel so far to get them looked at as the Edinburgh stealer is appalling.

Has anyone ever looked into SEAT extended warranty or extended warranty with any other companies? If Im going to keep it will need to seriously consider getting some as so many gadgets on this car that can and do (from time to time) go wrong.

They spent the whole day looking at the aircon with no joy so didnt even get to the boot catch. However, I'm informed that this is a known problem and an entire new logo boot release mechanism will be waiting by the time it goes back to have further investigations done on the climate control.

I have an overwhelming urge to go and buy another Japanese car!!

Hey toejam. Cheers for the tip about pulling the catch and pushing down. That seems to help and will do until they replace the whole thing in a few weeks :)

altea dude

just let you know i've had my altea for a year now two years old when purchased however great car but air con packed up on 2nd day back to stealers, complete air con replaced. boot lock started sticking new boot lock fitted the fault is in the handle, seat logo as this is electronic unlike the leon and ibiza which is lever operated.also check oil cooler oil seals as these have problems leaking .front screen replaced due to milky bottom edge.all of these repairs have been completed under warranty still got problem with oil seals ongoing. all i can say is keep taking it back to stealers and get the work done for free if you get no joy phone seat uk customer services
good luck

I looked into the seat extended warranty for my arosa.

It was going to be about £530 i think. Before i took out the poilcy i had to have a complete check over of the car by the dealer which i had to pay for, and if anything was found faulty i would have to pay to have it replaced.

When looking into what the warranty covered most things are put down to wear and tear. I didnt think it was worth it, even though my SEAT had been in and out of the dealer about 30 times in one year (no lie).

I was actually glad when the warranty did run out, as i would not have to return to the dealer again, they are shockingly bad. And ive not had one problem with it over the past year since it ran out.

Other than the lasting problem that the dealer inflicket on my wheel hub meaning i need new discs every 3K. Apart from that i think my car is enjoying not going back to the dealers and is being good, keeping everything working
