iv posted this up before but the post vanished with no sign of 'deleted and reason'?!
Anyway i'm driving along doing 60mph in 6th and the car makes a really loud bassy noise like a barry boy exhaust noise, i took my foot off the accelertor and it carried on then put it back on and it still carried on!The car has done this before at the same speed it may do it when i drive on the motorway but i never noticed apart from one other time about a month ago. Any ideas? Its well loud and worrying but the car seems fine!

sound like induction noise! is your airbox lid on properly! could be the better air system causing the deep induction noise

is it just for a short time or is it still doing it

those sort of noises are normally boost hoses popping off (permanent noise) or loose turbo mounting bolts (can be intermittant noise)

yeah, true but what other things can ause that sort of noise ?

loose exhaust ? loose air box touching strut brace ? boost pipe rubbing on fuel line ?

could be exhaust sounded like it was under my feet but i cant be sure as you obviously cant tell wher sound is coming from when your doing 60mph.

Feel a bit silly going to garage saying 'my car sometimes makes a noise' theyd prob drive it and say no noise bye!

does the exhaust have one of those spring loaded flexable joints down by the under side if the gearstick ?

if so it may be rusted and sticky causing it to leak intermittantly
