Lots of faults!!!!

Just got car back from my SEAT garage. The following codes have flagged up, they want to "trial and error" on my expense to fix them.....errrrr NO!!! Lol

Can any1 give me some insight into how bad these are?

17978 P1570 ECU Disabled Sporadic
16486 P0102 Air Mass Meter -G70
Signal Too Low
17523 P1115 O2 Sensor Heater Circ., Bank1-Sensor1
Short to Ground
17829 P1421 Secondary air injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112
Short to Ground
17843 P1435 Secondary air pump relay- J299
Short to Ground
17833 P1425 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canisterr Purge Regulator Valve
Short to Ground
17923 P1515 Intake manifold change-over valve - N156
Short to Ground
17525 P1117 O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank1-Sensor2
Short to Ground



Only 56k on 2001 Y plate car, fully serviced by SEAT this seems a bit extreme

Any reccomendations?

Get a set of wiring diagrams for your particular engine as installed in your particular car and have a look at what all of these things have in common. Whenever I see a bunch of "Short To Ground" codes, I suspect a bad connection (possibly caused by a bad relay contact) in the common power supply for those items. See the bottom half of this page for an example:

sounds like a low battery, reset the faults (if you havent already ,via vagcom or disc the battery for 10 mins) and that'll probably be the end of them.

Disconnecting the battery is unlikely to clear the fault codes stored in that ECU.

Also how to i ceck the charge on the battery to see if it is ok?

vagcom can tell you the real time voltage, if its lagging a little itll be 11v or under.

clear your fault codes... take her for a spin and wait for somthing to show up.

She is running terrible! They cleared the faults at the dealership (they gave me the printout) the light went out then came back on next time I fired her up. The car when it starts always stalls unless i keep the revs high and it is a bit sluggish . Other than vag com is there another way i can check it? i.e. with an ohm meter or sumthin?

Tested battery charged it over night still not joy!
Tried to get a wiring diagram cant find one.
Any other ideas people?

The Seat garage which did the scan for you should have a wiring diagram.

You can also get them from erWin.
