power steering has stopped working and I'm getting arm ache

looked at the level and it appears low, so if I check for leak, repair then fill the fluid back up, how do you bleed the system or what the proceedure to get it working again?

This happened to me 6 months ago, and ive spent over £1500 trying to get it fixed. going into seat one more time on friday, should be good for another £500. Ive had a new pump, 2 new sensors, and 2 new steering racks! Its been hell

If i were you mate, i would only let Seat deal with your car from now on.

Im sure you will not have as much bad luck!

steering system should bleed its self, just put steering on full lock both sides a few times with engine running after you have filled the system

sounds like you have a steering rack seal, pipe or pipe fitting gone

any puddles under the car?

I noticed when I was getting new tires put on the front that there was oil on the passenger side wishbone. Oil was very clean so its not from the engine, only thing I can think of is that a seal on the power steering rack has gone.

Can these seals be replaced?
If not how much is a new power steering rack gonna cost me?

Its annoying as the car's not even 3 year old yet but it has done 32k miles and if I remember right the warrenty is 3 years or 30k miles.

you need to find out if it is a pipe or pipe union that has gone (well easy and cheep to do) or a steering rack seal that has gone (well expensive £500 ish and 4-5 hrs to do)

get it looked at mate, hope it's just a split pipe or a union needs tightening up

edit, warrenty is 3yrs or 60k miles so get it down the stealers

Well I just got back from my local seat dealer and got them to have a look at the ps fluid leak and its the seal on the steering rack. So its booked in for thursday to have it replaced.
Atleast its all supposedly covered under warrenty.
So when I get that sortted I can finally get round to putting the new brake disc's, pads and cupra bushes on the car.
