Loosing power

Seat Leon 2006 TFSI

Hi there

Today when I was driving my engine light came on and started to loose power at around 3000

Took it to garage said there was no problems coming up on the computer

Then they did it a second time and it came up with 5 problems

They advised me to sell the car to them or private as it will cost to much money to fix

Just wanted to see what others say ?

Hi, personally with any garage, I'd get a second opinion. Especially as they suggested selling it to them. If its that broken, what they going to do with it? Fix it and resell it I imagine. Trub is, their equipment doesn't say if the code is a warning or error. Doesn't say when it was last thrown or how frequent. Eg, not all of those codes would put the eml light on. So some of them may have been there for a while.

For example, I've been driving round with no5 off that list for about a year now. It doesn't throw the check engine light for me and I wouldn't have known if I hadn't scanned it.

Sounds like it needs a bit of DLC. New N75 valve. Not sure on the engine speed sensor (G28). Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help you. But I'd find a Seat/VW specific garage (not main dealer) and see what they think. What area are you based in?

I’d be very suspicious of any garage that suggested I sell my car to them.... I guarantee you’d see it for sale on their forecourt a week later at a huge price more.

Agree with @Legojon and @Sharpy take it to a vag specialist, you may have expensive issues to fix but I would not be happy with any garage that suggested I sell the car to them to solve the problem

That doesn't look massively expensive, the diverter valve is a common fail, the N75's occasionally fail too, as does the purge solenoid.

All stuff thats not massively expensive or hard to fix.
