Hi Guys

Just sold of my seat leon cupra as i needed a slightly bigger car (i'm 6ft +). found the leon to be a touch too small as the rear passengers struggled. I luved the leon (had it for 2.5 yrs) so am thinking of the Altea. A local dealer is selling the 2ltr sport d for 7k. Is this a reasonable price? What things should i look out for?

I know i wont get the same 220bhp however at least the fuel eco will be miles better.

delaminating windscreen at the bottom (white strip appears), tyre wear, esp rears due to alignment issues, turbo air pipes blow off due to poor design retaining lugs (affects all VAG diesels 1.9 and 2.0)
Any strange turbo noises.

2.0TDI can be remapped very easily to 180+ and more torque than you can shake a stcik at so wont be that far off the Cupra.
Is it a DSG since this gearbox works great with diesel.

got a 05 TDI sport last year. I love it. as CrispDust has mentioned just about any issues that usually arise. I got my Windscreen replaced when I got mine as the white line was quite annoying to say the least. I also has a leaky CV boot which they replaced as well. as your thinking of a 05 the Timing belt will need replaced at either 60,000 or every 4 years. mine needs it done shortly.
