Really interested in buying a Cupra R 225, i have found one I like but it has 120k mileage, I’ve read the forums and can see the engines can be good for 150k+

This car has had new gearbox/clutch , Cambelt and waterpump and been remapped by AMD I’m 2016 to 260bhp

I was just wondering how how long do the turbos last? And how much are they to repair?

The car is around 3k is that a fair price?
Thanks

Turbos are really cheap these days mate, standard ones can be had on a recon/exchange basis for £400-£500

Not sure on current values for the R tbh.

I think I’m going to go for it. When I get it would it be advised to get sump dropped and cleaned out to prevent oil blockages or is it a case of waiting for it to happen then sort it?

It's usually only an issue if plastic debris from the dipstick tube has gone in the sump. If it was a £500 cupra then i'd say don't worry about it. With a £3k car i'd probably do it for peace of mind, unless you trust prev owner has already done so. If it gets blocked then it can kill the engine in seconds.
