Service Issue

Hi JHarper,

please can you call me and tell me when you tried to get in touch with our service team and who you spoke to.

This is definitely not the level of service I am to provide and I will sort it out tomorrow morning.

The number is 0151 243 2100 or e-mail me at [email protected]

If you still want a service, I'll make sure you get a special discount for your inconvenience.

Thanks

Steve

Thanks, but I booked my car into a dealer that was extremely helpful when I contacted them, and the service they provided when I took the car in was excellent. I shall be taking my car there in future.

Best place in Liverpool for a service is Alex Lawrie Skoda - ask for Garry & he'll sort you out :)

I rang Liverpool SEAT a couple of weeks ago to order a part - I was put on hold for a few mins & was told that the service guy was at VW, and to call back in an hour.

Rang back in an hour & he was not in the office - but left my number & was called back.

Also went down to pick up my part, and the guy I got it off said to ring & ask for the special discount on the service - not had a chance to yet though.......but unless it is hugely discounted from Skoda, i doubt I'll be changing service dealers :) (Skoda has been consistently £100 cheaper than SEAT for my 10k,20k & 30k services - I will need a 40k service in another 1k miles.......)

Yeah I'm thinking of going back to Alex Lawrie for my 30K service soon as well.
Not too impressed with Liverpool Seat. I was told a dash rattle was caused by an aftermarket radio fitment despite the fact my radio was fitted after the rattle. So I have to remove the radio to then see if it rattles still?. Something the tech guy could have done in 10 mins as they have the tools. I'm not paying out for it to be removed to then only confirm my suspicions. Also never checked under the scuttle panel either at the alarm siren box despite my recommendations. Still dealers know best despite several owners having the same issue. I'll sort it myself.

Just to add to this thread, I rang Liverpool SEAT at least 5 times last week to try get a quote, but they were having problems with the phone lines. The guy did take my number from the call display & rang me back, but my number was passed to the service department, who never called me back.

I also emailed one of there staff for a price on a service (from the card I was given when picking up my part) - got no response.

Then I PM'd LiverpoolSteve to ask him to provide me with a quote (and also tell him that the Leon Cupra pics on his website were actually showing a Clio & not a Leon) - but got no response.

Emailed Skoda, got a quote back in an hour that rivals AwesomeGTI (VAG Specialist) - so booked it in.

Liverpool SEAT - you need to sort yourselves out !!

Dash rattles

Hi Allan,

please excuse the delay- I have been out of the country for the last 2 weeks.

I've spoken to Tom regarding your rattles and he tells me that he spoke to you himself.

Tom tells me that when we looked at your car we couldn't immediately find anything loose. The next stage that we would have to take is to take your radio out and its cradle to eliminate that.

Where Tom thinks there may be a misunderstanding, is that if we find that your aftermarket radio is at fault, we would have to charge you for the labour required to rectify that - as SEAT quite reasonably won't cover that under their warranty. If however, we find that there is something else causing the rattle then it will be covered under warranty.

My understanding is that you told Tom that you would take the radio out yourself, eliminating that from the equation, and bring the car back so that we could investigate it further.

If you have any queries, Tom has asked that you contact him direct either by phone 0151 243 2100 or by e-mail [email protected]

Hope this helps

Steve

Apologies for our phone problems

I would like to apologise on behalf of Liverpool SEAT who has been inconvenienced by the problems we have been experiencing with our telephone lines. We have reported an intermittent fault to BT where we can only make or receive one way calls. This means that we can hear you but you can't hear us, or that you can hear us but we can't hear you.

We are hoping that we may have got this resolved today, but just in case....

If this happens again, please can you try and contact by email

Steve,

Most is true and yes I said that but upon reflection this is something a dealer with the tools can do in 10 mins, if that. I thought I had the removal keys at home otherwise I would have removed the whole thing before it was booked in. I did state and agreed you only have my word that the radio was fitted after the intial rattle. The ECU/Alarm siren bracket is a common cause documented on here several times. Play in these causes a noise that sounds like it's coming from the inner dash. That was overlooked despite instruction to be checked. I know customers can't dictate to the technicians on how to do their job. However my advise would have been the difference from checking something within 30 mins to removing the whole dash on the car which is not an easy/quick task. I have to remove the panel soon anyway to route some vac pipe so I will look at this anyway thanks. I will say the showroom looks impressive and I will be along soon to order parts I'm sure.

Thanks

Allan

Re rattle

Hi Allan,

Thanks for your reply.

I appreciate and understand your comments, however when we are trying to get the rattle fixed under warranty, we have to follow their guidelines otherwise they can reject your claim.

On another note, are you happy with the other work we carried our under warranty for you?

Thanks

Steve

I'm booked into Liverpool SEAT for my 40k service, so I'll make sure I give an honest writeup on here when it gets done.

Hopefully they are just teething troubles........

I haven't been for a service from Liverpool SEAT yet, but my previous car was a Fabia, and Alex Lawrie were excellent with that, apart from an issue with coil packs (took 3 visits to identify)

Will give Liverpool SEAT a go for the 30k service next month. If it's not as good as AL, or the other issue i'm having isn't sorted...
