Little Scratch Problem - Advise ??

Just found a scratched patch on my bonnet.

It's a wierd one. It's in the centre of the bonnet. Round, about 5cm in diameter consisting of a few tiny scratches in all different directions.

It almost looks like someone's tried to wipe something off with a pan scourer!

None of them are deep - they've only marked the surface of the paint. It's hardly noticable.. until you notice it.. then you can't keep your eyes off it!! :headhurt:

Anything that can make it go away??
I wouldn't say it's bad enough for a repair job.. but just wondered if them Coloured Chip Stick (lip stick things) in Halfords are any good or if there's anything similar ??

Cheers

Surrey darling...
Could it be a mark left from bird poo? That stuff is shocking on paint!!!

Try a very light T cut and polish - should help it if not get rid of it all together...

Failing that look for someone with a machine polisher as they'll be able to sort it for you with out too much of a problem :)

T cut at around 8pm (for temperature, and not in sunlight) Use on a 100% cotton cloth. circular motions working you way out with each application. Once they are removed apply a good layer of polish and wax. Sorted!!!

Thats what I would do! should work a treat as they are only light as you say. :)

not a lover of t cut or chip stick things... if its only light or surface scratch i would use a car cutting compound/paste..
t cut sucks..had loads of light scratches on my bonnet and t cut did sod all to remove it. polished like mad and still there..
used a cutting compound from local car shop had them babies out in 10 mins tops.
i was that impressed with it i did the whole car... tyr that instead of t cut...

could be a cat sitting on warm bonnet then scratch it as they get disturbedn and scarper..

hi skorchio..
its called tetrosyl rubbing compound...
its good for blending in new paintwork...removing light scratches and blemishes... restoring dull/ weathered paintwork..
i used some of this then use auto glyn high gloss polish to finished..
depends how deep scratches is of course...
