I bought my car there some time ago about 2 1/5 years and have had every service, repair and warranty item carried out there. I have generally found them to be fairly good how-ever they have stepped over the line of being good in my opinion due to the following things that happened during my last service:-
My car went into the dealership on a hot sunny day at the end of a hot sunny week with one weeks dust on it for a 40K service. Listers cleaned my car during the day, which I have no problem with as I had been told previously that they only jet wash them carefully.
1) When I picked it up in the evening I found that windscreen was so dirty that I had to wipe the inside so that I could see where I was going. It had very obviously been wiped with a dirty/oily rag on the inside. (I had cleaned te inside of the winscreen and all windows 5 days previous with cleaning spray and lint free cloths)
2) There were dirt streaks around the car where it had been poorly cleaned.
3) When I went out to the car (parked under a street light) later that evening I saw more swirls (made in circular motions) on the bonnet of my car than I have seen on any car in my life. (I wash the car using a hose and the two bucket method and dry it using a Megs drying cloth, the direction of wash and dry is in straight lines only).
I rang Listers twice about this, the first time they said "we don't wash the inside of windows" and that "the swirls would have been there anyway after 2 1/2 years anyway" Those little gems came from DAN on the service desk.
The second time I spoke to James, he is usually more sensible however this time he told me that the guy who has been washing cars "has been washing them for the past year" and that "they have had no complaints about this so far". They did not offer to do anything about the damage they have done to the vehicle and didn't even give an apology.
Now I know that paint swirls are not the worst thing that could happen, but when you have spent 2 1/2 years washing very carefully it's the last thing you expect to get when you pay your local dealership nearly £300 for a service.
Thanks LISTERS. Next time you see my car will be never
And if your sales team think I will be coming in to buy my next car from you, then you had best start thinking again.
I don't know what has happened since Neal left but it is all bad,
