I bought my car there some time ago about 2 1/5 years and have had every service, repair and warranty item carried out there. I have generally found them to be fairly good how-ever they have stepped over the line of being good in my opinion due to the following things that happened during my last service:-

My car went into the dealership on a hot sunny day at the end of a hot sunny week with one weeks dust on it for a 40K service. Listers cleaned my car during the day, which I have no problem with as I had been told previously that they only jet wash them carefully.

1) When I picked it up in the evening I found that windscreen was so dirty that I had to wipe the inside so that I could see where I was going. It had very obviously been wiped with a dirty/oily rag on the inside. (I had cleaned te inside of the winscreen and all windows 5 days previous with cleaning spray and lint free cloths)

2) There were dirt streaks around the car where it had been poorly cleaned.

3) When I went out to the car (parked under a street light) later that evening I saw more swirls (made in circular motions) on the bonnet of my car than I have seen on any car in my life. (I wash the car using a hose and the two bucket method and dry it using a Megs drying cloth, the direction of wash and dry is in straight lines only).

I rang Listers twice about this, the first time they said "we don't wash the inside of windows" and that "the swirls would have been there anyway after 2 1/2 years anyway" Those little gems came from DAN on the service desk.

The second time I spoke to James, he is usually more sensible however this time he told me that the guy who has been washing cars "has been washing them for the past year" and that "they have had no complaints about this so far". They did not offer to do anything about the damage they have done to the vehicle and didn't even give an apology.

Now I know that paint swirls are not the worst thing that could happen, but when you have spent 2 1/2 years washing very carefully it's the last thing you expect to get when you pay your local dealership nearly £300 for a service.

Thanks LISTERS. Next time you see my car will be never :ban:

And if your sales team think I will be coming in to buy my next car from you, then you had best start thinking again.

I don't know what has happened since Neal left but it is all bad,

:ban:i bought my seat leon fr from coventry and the experience of buying a brand new car was just lost and i had more headache than anything else from the dealership.

they agreed to a price on a new leon fr and i left a deposit subject to me seeing and driving one as i had not seen the new shape close up.

a few days later i asked them to email me confirmation of the deal and when i recieved the email it was over £600 more than what was agreed!!![:@] when i rang back to point this out they said that i must have been mistaken and that they would never have agreed that price!!!! i was fuming.... later that day one of the managers called me back and for about 40mins he tried to renegotiate the deal and wouldn't hear any thing i had to say, so i just said that i would have my deposit back. he said that it was not refundable.... i told him that i was told that it was. he confirmed this and agreed to refund it.

later that day he called me back and said that they honour the first price they gave me and that i could have the car!!! by this time i was really angry and confused.... but non the less i agreed but i wanted them to confirm all figures by email which the did.

i then arranged a day when i went up from birmingham to coventry with my wife to have a test drive and see the car. we spent about 4-5 hours at the dealership. before i left they wanted a to know weather or not i wanted the as they had someone else interested in the car. i said i would like to think about it overnight and call them in the morning.

i called them in the morning only to be told that they had sold the car last night!!!! i couldn't believe it... how could they sell a car that i had still got a deposit on??? they said that they would return my deposit and that they assumed that i didn't want the car.

i wasn't going to stand for that and told them that it wasn't acceptable.

after hours of phone calls back and forth they finally agreed not to sell they car to the other person ( if their was one that is!!) and that i could have it.....

my whole experience with listers garage from the first call to taking delivery was really bad and i did not even feel excited that i was picking up a new car.

all i can say is that driving the car some what made up for the appauling way that the dealership treated me. the worst of it was that they promised me a tank of fuel and then said they couldn't afford to do it as they were losing money on the car??? but they initailly agreed!!!! i think they reel you in to certain deals and then try and alter it after taking deposits, VERY BAD PRACTICE!!!

i couldn't be bothered with the fuel and was just glad to see the back of them.

i had a few issues and questions about the car and called them several times but no one returned my calls. i was going to take it up with the dealer principle but the more people i spoke to about it at the dealership, the more i got the impression that they coudn't careless. the only reason i was calling back was that sales lady that sold me the car was not there when i picked up the car and the guy that did the handover with me did not have a clue and couldn't explain much to me.

NOT EVEN A SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP THEY SHOULD BE STRUCK OFF BY SEAT BECAUSE THEY GIVE CAR BRANDS A BAD NAME!!!!!!!!

Funnily I didn't have those sort of problems when I bought my car from Cov' Seat, it was a really good hand over, no problems with pricing or anything, everything I asked for I got.

Just recently that I haven't been so happy with getting my paint messed up.

I know quite a few others on here who use them and have never had those sort of problems.
