Listening for rattles!

Monkeyhanger

Having only had the car for a few days I find myself constantly listening out for knocks and rattles as Im driving. I dont know if its because ive read threads on here regarding mysterious vibrations and rattles.
Does anyone else do this, and if so when will I get over this?

Most of the strange sounds in mine tend to come from the Missus due to the bad ride quality ;-)

Just turn the stereo up so you can't hear them... oh, no, that causes the speakers to rattle.

Apart from squeaky door seals (fixed quickly by dealer) and a buzzing rear view mirror (which seems to have fixed itself after a few "squeezes"), the interior on mine has been completely rattle free over nearly 5000 miles, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I too had this, i was continously hearing rattles, and convinced it was the car, but so far all i have heard is sunglasses ratting in bit at back of gearstick, and phone rattling in cupholder!!! (oh and i thought i'd busted my speakers playing ipod at vol 20, until i realised the crackle was on the track - Charlatans Road to Paradise on Sympatico if anyone is interested!!!)

So far so good!

I suppose it's inappropriate to mention a passenger side rattle that only occurrs above 110mph.
I do have a serious rattle / vibration from the rear passenger side door when listening to music at fairly high volume, even when the car is at a stand. Sounds like it's coming from the lock area and is even heard from outside the car as a buzzing sound through the door skin!
I hear that removing the door panel is a difficult job so I'm unsure hw to proceed with fault finding.

thats the problem with owning a new car, every noise, anything that happens makes you worry. Its like waiting for it to get its first stone chip, once its done and out of the way you can stop worrying so much.

lol! True.

I had my lovely brand new 07 Black Magic Stylance for 2 weeks when I reversed into one of those 3ft posts that you can't see out of the back window!

It made a very slightly noticeable scratch and dent on the bumper and it's taken me a another 2 weeks to convince myself that it would have happened eventually anyway and that it's not a big deal.

....nothing wrong with a little battle scar. Makes it more personal (plus, the wife hasn't spotted it yet!) :D

I must have been lucky, had the usual speaker problems (still have) but apart from that (touch wood) only had a rattle from the rear which turned out to be the 'clip' that holds the seat to the car - if you get that just use insulation tape on the clip to make a tighter grip and then no problems.
