Had my lcr for a couple of months now, all good so far :) ...... except,.... is it me or do you start looking at speedbumps, curbs, slopes, cats eyes, twigs, in fact any slight lump or bump on the queens highway in a new and decididly suspicous manner, having to make split second desicions as to if your car is going to make it over the dead rabbit in the road with out snowploughing it up the front of the car or listening out for that expensive sounding grrrrrind as you leave the multi story.

In short ,am I the only person on this forum who's actually thinking about removing the front splitter!! am I being a kn0b or do I just need a bit of counciling!! :p

i totally agree that when you start driving a car with low front wing like the lcr that you start looking at roads in a completely new light BUT....remove the splitter??? are you insane??? imho it would ruin the angry mean look of the lcr! just learn how low the front of your car is and accommodate accordingly! to be fair, there isnt much on the roads that you cant get over/around, you just cant drive up high curbs anymore!

I wouldn't remove the splitter - to my mind it stops me scraping the bumper and I know, worst comes to the worst, I can replace it for £20-odd.

And it DOES look cool.

What they said ^^

Multistories tend to be the only real problem for me, and if i had removed the splitter then it would be the expensive front bumper dragging on the floor instead of the cheap plastic splitter...

I've never yet managed to scoop up roadkill with my LCR (not that i've spent a great deal of time trying you understand!) :)

i cant wait to get my LCR as i will be able to drive over MORE than i can already in my lowered 106

i have a ss manifold that sits super low!! the prospect of hitting roadkill and have it cooking while being attached to the manifold is not a nice thought :repuke:

your all doing a great job of convincing me! Its that sound when you grind over the bump it sounds like you've just ripped the front end off, so far only damage is a new wheel arch liner and the bottom of the splitter has the texture of dean gaffneys face!

As I live in the countreee, hitting gods fluffy creatures is a bit of an occupational hazard. Although saying that, I did hit a dog on the M5 one night in a previous car, 2k's worth of damage and the fecker ran off!

okay, I guess I ought to buy a splitter while there cheap and keep it for special occasions.. :)

I'm on my second splitter, that was due to a massive rock(!) on the M5. Ironically if i had removed the splitter it might have gone under the car and not kicked up and smashed into my windscreen!

I was not a happy bunny that day...

(But don't let that put you off lol deffo keep it on)

Splitter is there for a reason, £20 to replace it and 5 min work as opposed to the best part of 1K for a front bumper! Multi stories sound worse than they are.

i have been running without one for 6 months becasue i lived on the worst unadopted road in the world, it looked more like a street in basra.

that said i have sinced moved and once i have had my car fixed (new rad and cooling fans  ) i will be putting it back on becasue it looks so much better.
