Leon V's Octavia

Ok, due to a recently stolen car I am looking for a new one.

One on my list is the Octavia and another is the Leon (we have had 2 old shape ones in the family before). Both 2.0Tdi.

Anyone else looked at these 2 and have any views on Pro's & Con's of both. I appreciate that it will be biased towards the Leon but still interested in thoughts.

I am currently leaning towards the Skoda.

Personally, I looked at the Leon FR and the Octavia VRS - I thought I should at least give the Skoda a chance to win me over, but I never even got as far as test- driving the Skoda

It's mainly the design of the car that does it for me. I love the sweeping lines and curves of the Leon, compared to the straight lines and angles of the Skoda.

Now I can't wait for Monday - picking up my shiny new toy

I hear what you are saying re: the looks. I personally preferred the old Leon (had 2) but this is subjective. Also following a car theft I am looking for something more discrete.

I have now done a deal on a Skoda Superb 2.0 tdi Elegance subject to my old car not being found.

What swung it for me was:-

Sat Nav, Leather heather (front and rear) and electric memory seats), Xenon lights, cruise, auto wipers/dipping mirror, umbrella in rear arm rest with outside drainage etc etc as standard.

Drives a little heavier (barge like) than my old A3 and the Leon, the gearbox is a little (lot) sloppy but the engine works well and is a nice place to sit.

Also got a cracking deal as we were trading in one car and buying 2 Skodas.

Add those standards to a Leon and it is steal cheaper..
