Leon timing belt kit same as MkV Golf?

Basically as title, my sisters b/f has a MkV Golf with the 1.9TDi engine in it, it a Sport model on a 55 plate. Will this have the same belt kit as a Leon TDi? I only ask because i only like to fit genuine parts, and can get genuine SEAT parts pretty resonably priced. Cheers

Some timing belt kits will be the same, but not all 1.9 engines carry the same belt kit. A VW engine with the same belt and running gear as a Seat will be the same, but not just any belt & kit. There are differences across the range as the years changed.

David at Sere Motors will be able to help you as he can source some VW parts from the VIN

i think the best thing you could do is phone david and give him the engine code if he cant find it from the vin
