Leon TDI 1.9 01 mud flaps before & after + pics

Did a little TLC to my Leon last night.

Stuck some new mud flaps on the rear, £18 off ebay brand new.
Stealer wanted £24.

Pretty easy little job, had to take wheels off for better access but not a prob.
Took about an hour.
Attached a pic for those interested. Adds a nice little touch to the rear!

Got to be honest, I've never been a fan of mudflaps myself - I can see the advantage - just don't like the look

I'm the same, never been a fan of mud flaps, but I have to say they don't look bad at all. Some cars wear them much better than others.

Often on motorways in the rain I think, 'How come mudflaps are an expensive optional extra and not a legal requirement for safety?'

The main problem in those conditions is spray from other ve hick ells.

Yeah I know what you mean, I wouldnt normally be a flap kinda guy but the Leon has quite a curvy ass to it, I thought it needed a little something.

They are an aquired taste, they kinda fit better with the colour of mine I think as aposed to, say, a bright blue or red coloured car.

not 100% sure on mudflaps.. but i can see how they would assist espesially when coming to clean the car

elindil I got the flaps from an ebay member called - 1752streetlymotors

There looks to be some seat Toledo flaps on there, not sure if these would fit, they look incredibly similar. [infact i think its the same pic, part number is - SEAT Part No IMO 075 101 the ones I got for my Leon were - SEAT Part No IMO 075 102.

When I fitted mine I had to drill little holes into the plastic inside the wheel arch, so you dont have to match holes up to fit them, but the Toledo ones might be a slightly different shape. Few on ebay, for example - Item number: 220107067067.

Someone else might have to help you out on this one with regards to the fitting.

When I searched I put: "seat leon mudflaps" [even though its two words!]

do you get much dirt/crap/**** build up between them and the wheel arch, as in the olden days i remember that they got full of stuff and would then start to rot the wheel arch away
