Nice one, cheers guys - that P700BT does look pretty awesome, the perfect player but a little more than I was hoping to spend if I'm honest (I'm not sure if I'll use Bluetooth, iPod and USB, I'm just wondering if it'd be a bit overkill) but it's still very tempting. I notice (again, being the cheapskate that I am) there are some of those up on Ebay, where even with the import taxes would work out to be fairly cheap, but again they've got that crappy 'Premier' logo on there, is that definitely legit stuff!?

Thanks for the info about the glovebox too Danny/Lee - the fact it's only a few screws is nice to know, and the fact there's a blanking section is awesome too, I'm useless with a drill!

Regarding that Kenwood, it does look pretty cool thanks Danny, but I think I've got my heart set on one of these others now :)

Cheers again guys, really appreciate your replies.

My Alpine XDA is USB and ipod compat. You have to buuy an extra bit to make it bluetooth but it only cost £205 from road radio.

I saw someone on here got one and went out the next day to find it, i didn't even need a new stereo, im terrible like that.

Yeah the Alpine's look pretty decent thanks, I'm tempted by something like that but I'd rather get something all in one to be honest - I'm assuming the bluetooth module needs it's own power, wiring and all that?

I'm actually now looking at the Clarion player - looks pretty cool, but no iPod support, no USB support and no CDs means it's quite limited. Just one of those extra features and I'd of got one I think.

Cheers man, I'm happy with the white if I'm honest; white, black or red is what I'm after!

But I'm still tempted by the Pioneer (and the Alpine) I've got to say, 'cos they're such quality players.

I just wish I wasn't so shallow and keep getting hung up on the looks!!

Hah, pardon my retardedness, is that a good thing or a bad thing? :D

I think the Alpine is a great player, but it's just a bit too much if that makes any sense? I'd prefer something a bit more low key if possible, especially since I'd rather just leave it in the car and not have to take it out ;p

A good thing the quality is superb, far better than pioneer.

I wouldn't be leaving anything in view of the delightful children we have now a days ;)

Bah... didn't even think of that! Why can't the Aura play MP3s, it'd be so much easier :p

Good shout on the Alpine then cheers, for some reason I thought Pioneer was pretty much the benchmark, maybe I'll give the Alpine a closer look.

To be honest, I'm going to go to Halfords to see what they've got - there's none anywhere near me but it'll be worth the trip I think.

I've had a lot of stereos and for all round quality and reliability Alpine is far the best. The sound is so good with my OEM speaker that i haven't even bothered with my Alpine sub & Amp plus it has a colour screen that you can put your own pictures on as backgrounds, how cool is that! :funk:

That is pretty sweet! I'm not a massive fan of the looks (like I said, they look cool, but almost a little too cool... if that makes sense?) but they look like quality players. A bit more than I wanted to spend ideally but very tempting for sure.

Agreed on the standard speakers being more than up to the job of what the Alpine can throw at it.
I guess it helps having a well built car in the first place :D

Hah, yeah I find the standard speakers to be pretty decent, even with the Aura head unit.

Tempted by this along with the bluetooth adapter, but yeah, I think I'd rather an all in one system thing. Might have to go for the £200 Alpine :O

God damn, I thought all of these had changeable colours... they don't make this easy do they :D

I just want an all black player with red buttons, bluetooth and maybe iPod/USB support as a nice bonus :( Not really fussed if it has a CD even

Here we go, think I'm getting somewhere now D:

Lee, any reason in particular you sent back the Pioneer?

my n95 works fine with the pioneer (not 8 gig model)

although when i was in the shop, i couldn't get it working
its a bit slow to connect sometimes (bluetooth handshake), but works great

there is also an NSERIES update on the pioneer site for the HU, although, i had issues with it, so i'm using the "nokia" setting on the HU

i use the N95 all the time with the HU
when i take the key out of the ignition, it pauses the N95 music player, and when i get back in and start the car, it resumes playing.

I also have an alpine unit in my mrs 206, its poo in comparision, but the speakers in the leon, coupled with the pioneer results in a great sounding system. (i write music as a hobby, and have studio monitors and i know a crap system when i hear one)

I do love my alpine, and with good speakers its sounded great, but dont knock the pioneer, i was REALLY suprised just how good it sounded, and how much control i had over the sound.

go to a shop and listen to both if your unsure.
