hey guys,

Right, putting a deposit down on this in the next day or so.

Need to check a few things first!

Seat Leon TDI FR (cupra bodykit)
2006 (55 reg) Hatchback 59,309 miles Manual 1.9L Diesel 5 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Diesel, 59,309 miles, Black Magic Metallic, Driver, Passenger And Front Side Air Bags,Anti-Lock Brakes,17In Alloy Wheels,Traction Control System,Power Steering,Air Conditioning,Climate Control,Electric Windows,Remote Control Volumetric Alarm,Remote Central Door Locking,Body Coloured Bumpers,Speakers,Trip Computer,Immobiliser,Front Fog Lights,Adjustable Steering Wheel,Driver/Passenger Seat Height Adjustment,Radio/CD,Cloth interior. £7,990

Now it's currently at a Skoda dealership. They have said they will give it a 12 month MOT once its bought (currently has no tax).
It's also very close to having its cambelt done.

the guy there said something about a full service and cambelt change, again, once its bought. But i'm assuming they will want to charge me an arm and a leg for that.

For £8,000 (or less if i can haggle down), what should i be trying to get included in the deal?

It books at £9395 with 40k from a Independent Dealer and £10055 from a Franchised Dealer.

Thats from Parkers guide......I'd still try and get everything done for the £8000.....they can only say no can't they.

Sounds like it will be done on purchase/deposit, double check and if it isn't tell them to do it and they will get your custom :D

Hi EvertonMarc

Just noticed your thread - I too have seen this vehicle and test drove it today. Its an absolute beast - the price does include 12 months MOT, a Cambelt Service, 12 months warranty and roadside assistance. Full SEAT/VW service history to date and in mint condition.

In fact so good I bought it - they even gave me a great part ex on my car. ;)

Sorry mate just wanted to give you an heads up - the dealer had said there was some other interest but just thought it was the old trick they usually use.

Theres one in Birmingham at Volkswizard - same spec, colour etc and price but with fewer miles if you are still on the lookout.

I was looking at this very car a few months ago, seems very clean and tidy.

I offered them £7900 on the nose but ONLY if the cambelt kit was renewed and full 60k service carried out.

They agreed but only if I could leave deposit there and then. I didn't and bought a different FR.

BTW, its a FR+ and is Cupra R spec.

Hi Marc

Yes thats the one - the Skoda dealership in Reading - sorry mate.

and Karizma

many reasons such as lower part exchange price offered on my car and the cambelt change/service not included in the price etc - that answer your question?

Hello chaps,

ok, an update! Checked out the one at Volkswizard, just wondered what people thought.

It's a 46,000 TDI FR+.

Details from garage :
It's 1 owner from new.
2 stamps in the book but one from Barlows Seat Wolverhampton (sticker still in window) is missing so 3 services in total and due one now to bring up to date. 1st and 3rd are main dealer, 2nd is independent.

Got the spare key.
It will have 2 new tyres, ones on back are about half worn.
Doesn't seem to be a mark on it apart from minor ones on wheels which can be dealt with before sale.
Doesn't seem chipped, quick but not crazy so, just right for a 150.
Interior is good, no smells.
Got the mats.
No tax (refunded by owner) and MOT to Feb but can run it through another for £50.

I will sell it for £7990 and any work needed that isn't essential can be done at extra cost as I think it might be a tad cheap considering interest already.
A deposit will be fine but keep an eye out for pics later and decide if it's for you. If misdescribed I will refund but I would need £100 to secure, ideally by bacs transfer as I don't take cards as yet.

I assume everything from "Details from garage :" down is the garage and none of it yours?

I must admit that the FR+ is a pet-peeve of mine and IMHO all should be tuned to at least LCR210 levels. To the untrained eye the FR+ is the same car as the LCR, which was a £20k+ car new and highly tuned, whereas the FR+ was quite a bit cheaper and nowhere near as powerful as standard.

Anyway, mini-rant over, it's all been said many times before I'm sure

No, I mean that the FR+ has the LCR bodykit and 17" versions of the LCR's 18" wheels. They look VERY similar and are indistinguishable to the untrained eye (my neighbours son has problems seeing the difference between my LCR and the wifes 1.4S )
