Just had a email from Superchips regarding the Leon FR 170 TDI.

For the Leon they quote 213BHP & 306 torques yet they quote a generic VAG 170 TDI with 201 BHP & 318 torques...!!!

They also have a full review of the Leon FR TDI ..sounds very good and they must have resolved the DPF issues as they withdrew the original chip for the Leon a few months back and its now back being advertised !

I would if i had a Leon !

I wonder which is the correct figure, i reckon it would give the new Cupra a run for its money ...I reckon you have it done . Shame there are no performance stats on the review

What's a "torques"? Which is it? Is it lb-ft or Nm or some other arbitary measurement of rotational force?

when i say 'torque' i mean lbs ft ....i prefer using that term than Nm for some strange reason...manufacturers have only recently been refering to torque as a Nm ...correct me if im wrong though......either way its alot !

I would think the p-box (204bhp / 420 nm) would be a better option because it can be removed very quickly and if the car has to go back because of any engine managerment problems the remap has to firstly removed then reinstalled back in and could lead to more cost and fuss.

The graph for the Leon shows 201 bhp like the others 170s so I think it must be a mistake in the artical.

I wonder if they will bring out a bluefin varient... that would solve the "when back at the dealer" problem.
