Hi people, just had a call from my misses mate to say the exhaust has dropped off her 55 plate fr+ tdi over the weekend, she's taken it to joe blogs exhaust place who ordered the replacement and are now saying it doesn't fit properly and that it must be a "Friday afternoon" motor as he reckons they have put a twin pipe leon cupra petrol exhaust on it! I'm pretty sure all leon fr models models came out of the factory with twin pipes didn't they? And would a petrol cupra exhaust even fit a diesel fr? Any help gladly received as its nearly Xmas and she hasn't got stacks of cash. sounds to me like there trying to make a few quid
Cheers in advance

Well my FR+ 55 plate tdi150 has twin pipes at the back. My car was registered in 2006 and I always have to tell garages it's 2005 or you end up with a (2006) Mk2 part. That's probably what's happened.

I had this problem a few weeks ago. There is no true pattern part - you have to buy OEM or aftermarket. The garage might have just ordered the ordinary Golf TDI exhaust which has a different backbox - it often comes up on their systems.

The OEM exhaust is a horrendous price - about £500. You would be much better getting an aftermarket catback, such as the Milltek.

As above, the FR & FR+ came with twin outlet exhaust.
Buy an aftermarket stainless exhaust for much cheaper and it will last longer. ;)

You probably need to call and check it's the correct part, but GSF have got the back box for £100
Part No : 252VG0690

They often do a 35% discount code email for the weekend if you can wait that long.
