Leon fr pictures req'd asap!

Hi,

I have just ordered my new Leon Fr, however, in order to take delivery next week, I need to choose the colour by tomorrow morning. Does anyone have any exterior pics of the Platinum Grey or Arctic Grey to help me make my decision?

Mines an Artic Grey cupra from the front its exactly the same. Just has different alloys and silver wing mirrors (these dont really show up again Arctic grey. I will see if i can dig out some pics of mine if it helps?

I am now thinking about buying the Cupra as I didn't realise the new ones do not come with folding door mirrors. I do not really like the door mirror colour and that is why I wanted the pics...any thoughts on getting a Cupra over the new FR? The dealer I went to has a Cupra in stock and I need a car next week although they should be able to source an FR in the same time.

well my cupra hasn't got folding mirrors either its on an 04 plate. I think the older ones have it though. You do however get a cd changer in the cupra which you dont in the fr. I have sent you a few pics of mine. Hope it helps

Does anyone know if the last of the Cupra's came with folding door mirrors?

The FR is actually the new name for the Cupra.
AFAIK it is exactly the same apart from the wheels.
It will have folding mirrors.

They have different seat fabric to the Cupra (or at least the one at my dealer has), and the silver mirrors like on the Ibiza too.

Thanks. I read on another thread that the mirrors on the FR are not folding so I wanted to check.

I also read that if going for the Arctic Silver, the new silver mirror casing does not look so good and so it is worth paying to get it properly colour coded - is this true and does it apply to all colours? If so, has anyone paid and know how much I should pay?

I saw a ibiza FR today in Arctic Silver and the silver mirror casing blends in pretty well, you really have to look very closely so i don't think that the casing will be a problem.

Personally though i prefer the alloys on the cupra rather than the FR.

we had 2 luna grey leons at a dealer near me and i couldnt see a noticable difference between them if anythin luna was a very VERY tiny amount lighter but not enough for an easy comparison to be made

ok boys and girls next dilemma luna, platinum or black magic FR <---- to be honest prob out question as hairline scratches easily show HOW F ING ANNOYING

That's a tough one...I think you will be happy with either. Speak to your dealer, see if they have both available unless you are pre-ordering for the new 05 plate.

I decided on the silver as I was not sure how the contrasting mirrors would look on the platinum grey. The pic on above on the platinum does look good though...

Go with your gut feel - I do not think you will be disappointed with either.

I do not know if you have sorted pricing but I will be happy to share with you the deal I got (although I do not know whether I should show this on the forum being a newbie (any advice)? If not, I will happily email details and dealer etc

gut feelin says platinum definately and ive seen it in the flesh looks great .. not to fussed about 54/05 plate to be honest want TDi FR with the c/control wot do you reckon i should aim for with the dealer
