Leon Fr 150 Tuning Box??

hi guys, just been looking on ebay tonight at these tuning boxes, some say 25+ bhp & some 38+ bhp. I`ve been reading on the forum & i know, they dont get a good report. Was thinking of buyin one has i`ve not got much spare cash at the mo for a proper remap, Would it do any harm if i was to just try it for abit & see how it go`s. Would it be safer to go for the 25+bhp has its not has harsh with the torque. Cheers Guys.

No, no, no! ;o) Please just save your money for the remap... You will get one sooner, if you don't buy the tuning box... And you'll save a few months of driving a small industrial chimney around!

I guess you're looking at something like this:

It looks like it could go for around £100 - that's under a third of the price for a custom map from someone like Bell Autos, P-Torque, etc...

Forget tuning boxes, all they do is just make the ecu dump more fuel into the engine, then you will start overfueling and that causes all sorts of problems.

Save your money for a remap and now they can be had for as cheap as £250-£350 from some good reputable companies. Bare in mind your clutch will probably need to be changed.

As already said, don't go for a tuning box! All they do is pump more fuel in to the engine which can cause problems. Save up for a remap instead. If you want, I'll take you out for a spin in mine so you can see what it's like.
