Leon Door Trim Kit and Armrest

Hi all - thinking of replacing my 2.5 yr old Altea Sport Tdi with a Leon FR Tdi.

A couple of questions

(1) Car looks great on 18" wheels but concerned that the ride quality may suffer (currently got 17's on my ALtea- ride is firm but acceptable) - is there much difference?

(2) Has anyone out there got any comments or pics on the Leon Armrest or Door Trim options - are they worth it and does it help lift the interior ambience (SEAT interiors do tend to be a little dull imho) or are they best avoided

Hi Mate,

I've got 18s on my Leon now and personally love the ride quality, ok its firmer than it was before so you feel the bumps alittle more but it holds the road so much better
I've also had an arm rest fitted and I think it makes the seating position sooo much better When the dealers fitted it, they were all taking it in turns sitting in my car and everyone of them said it was much better and I know a couple of them have now ordered armrests for their own Leons

1. Ride is fine for me, best thing to do is find a dealer to test drive it. You really cannot tell from asking people as everyones opinions are different. I find it certainly stiff but I like that "on rails" strapped in feeling. You may hate it.

2. Armrest is about £100 fitted (if you are good friends with your dealer). Great if you feel you need it. The trim kit certainly brightens up the interior

I must be very very good friends with my dealer, I got it for £50 fitted !

Did you get that done at the same time as the car was bought?

I was looking at aftermarket which the majority have done and the consensus is about £100

Good Point... yeh I did get it when I was doing the deal to buy the car !
I didn't think of that !

I can't comment on where to get an after-market armrest from, but I can confirm that the Seat one I've got doesn't interfere with gear changing.

Door trim kit

If anyone is interested, I am selling the door trim part of the brushed aluminium effect door trim kit for the MkII Leon on eBay.

I fitted the speaker rings and decided to leave it at that as the rear door trims are not included in the set.

Might be possible to cut them down to size to fit the rears but I haven't tried!

They come boxed as in the photo.

I would say yes (but I have one, personal preference), plus you can choose material and colour. They also do one with a mobile phone holder inbuilt.

I too fitted the Seat Armrest, myself (4 small screws) it cost me £65 and unfortunately it does interfere with gearchanging. Looks good though.
