its a pain in the arse job, i did it with the front and rear bump strips on my leon. when u have to do it take them off (without breaking them) i couldnt get mine off so i masked round them and get sum wet and dry sand paper, i think i used 300, 500 and 800 grit paper. then totally smooth them off, then u think youve done it. DO IT SUM MORE - youll notice the difference with more time u put in. then once they are totally smooth, clean them with panel wipe or summat similar then put a few layers of plastic primer on and allow to dry between layers (only like 10, 15 mins). then smooth off with the smoothest paper uve got and leave for 24 hours. now using long slow steady strokes build up layer with the paint and allow again to dry between layers! ull need about 5 or 6 layers, also if ur car is metallic ull probably need a laquer. then allow to dry for 24 hours and then take off the tape.
a few tips
- dont do it if its too windy
- dont do it if its too hot
- dont do it if its too cold
- dont do it if its gonna rain
- dont be impatient - take ur time and itll look alot better

or just pay a body shop to spray em or if uve got money to burn have them smoothed out!

The Mrs sprayed the ones on her Cupra whilst they were on the car...

Lots of masking tape, and to save time, buy a reem (the old feed style so its in one concertinered (sp?) piece) and use that to cover LOTS of the car... overspray is the worry not directly spraying the car... wind makes it worse, so pick a dry day, and park up somewhere that isnt dusty if poss. As mentioned, if you want them smooooth, spend the time sanding, otherwise you will only have to do it twice (because we are all perfectionists at heart).

I am consireing spraying my Rear "S" badge in this method. I bought a replacement locking mechanism but my god they are hard to take apart to remove (well the putting back together is the hard bit really)
