Leon Cupra Rear Caliper

Hi,

Looking for a bit of guidance. Had an issue with my rear caliper on my mk3 Leon cupra (electronic handbrake) and ended up ejecting the piston past the seal. Unfortunately the way these calipers are built means the piston sits on a smaller threaded sleeve, which then sits on the winding screw. This threaded sleeve separated and a whole bunch of tiny ball bearings came out. So I either get a new / refurbished caliper or some kind of caliper repair kit with all the ball bearings pre packed - cause repacking is a no go.

Has anyone actually rebuilt one of these calipers before including the inner sleeve? I've a funny feeling I'll be forced to get a new caliper.

Also, if anyone has had a refurbished caliper that's been good quality, please can you point me in that direction too. I've 310mm discs. Seen stuff on eBay but always careful especially with brakes.

Thanks for the help

Hi thanks for that.
Unfortunately that's for the smaller rear calipers and they don't seem to have the same made bearing based handbrake mechanism.

Ah yes of course - you have the ATE EPB not the TRW.

Is your problem similar to this:

However the Evoque and smaller VAG use the 38mm piston and I think the Cupra has a 42mm piston?
Which would be D42588K from their catalogue is says with mechanism? but photos don't seems conclusive.
