Leon Cupra 280 2015 DSG, 118,500 miles at the moment. Had a service 18th Nov, inc oil change n filter, sparks, air n pollen filter n inspection etc. No engine oil leaks. Now the ‘check oil’ light has illuminated. Is this normal consumption? It’s been 6 weeks…
Was the oil level at the maximum mark on the dipstick immediately after the service? I’ve been given short measure on oil before when my car was serviced (only just above the min mark on the dipstick).
How many miles have you covered since the service on 18th November and how does that compare to the mileage normally driven between oil top-ups prior to the service?
Same mileage, no difference. Not many miles at all. Just used around town, that’s it. I assume it was filled to the brim to be honest, but can’t be 100% certain. I’ll fill it to the max myself this time, and see how long it lasts.
Unless you drove (12,00/15,000 mls) it should not come on, it might come on if you go very fast around a bend or roundabout).
As you said fill it to the proper lvl and see how far you get, just be carefull dough.....
I supplied my own oil n parts etc, the garage just did the labour part of the service. The oil cans up in the loft now, far away… But they definitely used >5L of oil.
