Leon Cupra losing power

My mark 1 had it's excessive pollution light on last week,took it to the garage(still just under 3 month warranty).After having a look on here told them not to just reset the sensor and that it may be other reasons.So they just reset the sensor saying it was an air intake fault-that's a new one to me.
Been out in the car today and it has been running rough.On my way home it was losing power to the point of almost stalling.Managed to limp home and phone the garage and they are picking the car up tomorrow to have another look.
Would appreciate any advice as to the most likely cause,the warning light hasn't come back on by the way.

my guess would be the catalytic convertors on its way out?

Had a similar fault on mine but it ran fine once it was warm, turned out to a split turbo hose (which made the excess pollution light come on) and the MAF was knackered. runs fine now.

if you disconnect the maf sensor and if immeadiately idles/ runs well.. the sensors more than likely goosed.
dont drive for long without it as youll overfuel and may damage the cat.

dying mafs wont always show on a fault checker

Time for an update.
The car dealer has had my car for 10 days now and so far they say they have tried a new lambda sensor and a new MAF to no avail.They say that even though the car was misfiring upon picking it up,it no longer does so but that the warning light is still on.
I have spoken to them today and the car is now having another part fitted(they couldn't tell me what part).
All in all they are as frustrated as I am with this sorry mess,but I have to say that they have been as helpful as possible and that they are determined to get to the root of the problem.
I did suggest them contacting the local Seat dealer to talk to a mechanic as he may have a better solution,but they have said that it would cost them more money.
All this is being done under my warranty thankfully,but this does seem to be dragging on.
Will get back when and if etc.

Time for another update.
The dealer has just phoned to say they have put another lambda sensor on and that the light has now gone out and all seems well.They have stressed again that the car hasn't misfired since last week.
They are keeping the car for today to make sure all's well and I hope to pick it up tomorrow.
