Leon Cupra Handbrake

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a Mk2 Leon Cupra, but I've noticed that the handbrake is on the LEFT (thanks Jedimaster65) handside of the centre console. Has this caused any problems for anyone? And does it feel odd having it there?

Hi, do you mean the LEFT side ?

I understand our cheeky SEAT friends have left it on the continental left side, which isn't a major problem, but does look a bit odd, admittedly...

It only causes problems if your an utter tit and cant be arsed moving your hand 3.5" to the left!!!!!!!!

By the way welcome to the forum!!

Hi Adam,

Previous to my Leon, I had a MK2 Focus and the handbrake was also 'on the left' as you put it.

When I went to France last year, I hired a Leon of all things, obviouly LHD and the handbrake was on the left, but so was the steering wheel:whistle:

I must admit, I found it way more awkward with the handbrake 'close' to me and when I ordered my new Leon in October, I was hoping it was the same as the Focus (left-side handbrake) and obviously, it is.

I haven't got me armrest yet, but I figure it may be a little more awkward then but hey? I'm so smitten with the rest of the car (as this forum said I would be):D

Hope this helps,

Ian

Need to look at the car to see what you mean, but as it is, the handbrake works, stops the car from moving when parked and is not awkward or in the way.

didn't even notice it was on the left side of the centre console! not an issue. arm rest slightly hinders it but you get used to it
