Had a look in search and couldn't find anything recent on this, so want to know what was included in this service? plugs? filters? oil of course, and was brake fluid included or to be charged as extra if required?

Local SEAT garage quoted me £330 which I thought was steep, plus it doesn't include a brake fluid change (recommended evry 2 years) would be additional cost of £55.


I also asked them about the red light that stays on temp gauge when you first start car in morning..which I thought the probe could be cleaned, they said the expansion tank has to be replaced at a further cost of £70.


Booked in day after, but may change to AUDI/SKODA as Seat pricing seems to have gone thru' the roof.

holla. 40k is an inspection service + plugs/air filter/oil etc etc etc. The brake fluid is only a 'recommendation' (a good one) so its not included. £330 is not over the odds (however unreasonable) but as you said its worth remembering that the octy VRS has an AUQ and so you can usually save by going to a skoda dealer. The Expantion tank level light is a common issue that most people exentualy have to deal with. So yes its a new tank/sensor however for this i would go to a specialist or get the parts and DIY

In Dec last year, I was told by the dealer that 40k is a major service which includes replacing the sparkplugs, pollen filter, air filter etc but they also recommended a cam belt change at 4 years, which surprised me a bit... Anyway, I thought it better than to go against dealer advice, just in case something went bang after! I was quoted £575 at first but after haggling I got this down to £460. This price was inclusive of parts, labour, VAT and discount!

I've also had the temp gauge problem - this is a common fault (see pre-05 Leon @ Honestjohn webpage). It's solved by switching the engine off and then on again so I'll live with it...

I just had my 03 lc serviced my a local garage for £190 which included everything.
