Hi all,

am new to all this. i am looking at buying a leon next year feburary time. i have desided that i want to have a diesel as i do alot of traveling and i have desided that i want a 150bhp one. since i will be only 22 on purchase the insurance is about the same (£1300) but i am not sure what the main difference between a FR and the Cupra is. both the same bhp obiously different spec but i can not find anywhere that tells me what the difference is. obiously you cannot but these brand new any more so i will be looking at one about 3years old max come next year. i have loked at prices and in some cases there is 5000 in difference between an FR and cupra with the same amount of milage and same age. is the cupra worth the extra money? or is the FR just as good??

could any one shed some light on this for me.

thank you

The FR has updated design alloy wheels (still 17" like the cupras), electric folding mirrors (though some of the late cupras like mine had these too), different interior upholstery, and silver mirror covers.

The FR has a single CD player, where the Cupra has a tape head unit and 6cd changer in the glove compartment.

Mechanically exactly the same though.

If you want to buy a 2005 '05 plate Cupra TDi in silver with 16k miles on, mine's up for sale and has the armrest / electric folding mirrors too

happy hunting, Andy

I'm only 21, and with no no claims and got my insurance for 800 from elephant, just by adding two female drivers onto the insurance (my mum and sister) it drops the insurance down do much!!
