Hi all i just found the site!

im looking at getting a New Leon 1.6 Stylance,

Any comments or feedback from owners would be helpful and also what i should be looking to pay, for a brand new one.

Note - please dont suggest a cupra, fr etc I'm going for the stylance as its only group 5 insurance and from what i can see the spec is excellent as standard.

Cheers!!!!!!

I bought an FR TFSI last summer, but recently drove a 1.6 courtesy car for a few days. I was impressed that it was still a good drive, despite having half the power of the FR.

I bought the FR from The Deal Negotiator http://www.thedealnegotiator.co.uk/specialsseat.htm as he was the cheapest at the time. He doesn't list the 1.6, but try dropping him an email.

Cheers

Had same reasons for buying Stylance 1.6. Excellent equipment level, no requirement for high performance (get that from my 7 year old Audi A4 1.8Turbo Sport!), and low insurance group (5 vs Audi 15). Only covers low, mostly local, mileage.

Very impressed with low down pulling power of 8 valve engine. 16 valve engine in my mark 1 1.6 SX (end of model range purchase at good discount) was slow to pick up from low revs. The 8 valve is much better.

The car belongs to my wife. I enjoy driving it so much, I have to ask to borrow it occasionally. The car is much nicer to drive than the mark 1 and has more interior room. Only downside is restricted vision caused by wide pillars; I find I have to be careful of blind spots. You just need to get used to it.

The price I paid is not representative, as I got it as a (part dealer, part SEAT, part me) funded replacement for my new Mark 1 which had really poor paintwork over 70% of the car.

Overall, highly recommended. Go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

rob,

i also have a red stylance 1.6 and i am very pleased for the price.

As Formula said it pulls very nice from low revs, i also remember me with 5th gear and 1500 rpms and didnt need to shift down.

The only problem is that because of the 8v engine map it is not too strong on high revs above 4500 rpm but...

I had a revo remap with a bmc replacement filter and a slightly better air intake. The car now revs up better above 4500 and i think it needs it.

Go for it, highly recommended

Thanks for your thoughts people!!

Few more questions (sure all of these are in the brochure but im waiting for Mr Seat to post me one!)

Does it have a front armrest?

Is climate control standard?

Is an alarm standard?

Is the boot big? (I currently drive a corsa, so i know it will be bigger just wondered a real world size so to speak rather than X amount of litres!)

How do Seat dealers score for value for money on things such as servicing, parts and labour?

Thanks Again
Rob

armrest is extra

climate control and alarm is as standard

Ive just bought a black stylance with mettalic paint and sports pack (essential in my opinion, 17" alloys and a much nicer red interior)

Paid 13k all in and couldnt be happy. Fantastic car for the money, especially when you look at the vw equivelent.........plus you hardly see any
