Hey guys,

So i've read and read and read the forum before posting this but can't get a difinitive/recent answer.

We have all experienced the "canbus" apparently "error-free" LED bulbs haven't we!? and they still throw up the dash warning light. I am fully aware of resistors and don't want to have to fit them. I just want a set of WORKING LED Canbus friendly bulbs for the number plates. (can't understand why SEAT didn't just do this from stock like but hey) anyway, i've found these.....

http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/xtec-c5w-led-canbus-error-free-number-plate-bulbs/

XTEC 9SMD bulbs with built in Canbus friendly heat sink.

Now the question i would like answered is this, "do they work and NOT throw up the error light"?? as I am well aware ALL the LED number plate lights actually WORK but it's the error light i don't want. :D

By the way I have a Leon Supercopa 2012 so is the facelift and has the latest software and CANBUS fitted. (more of a nightmare than ever)

Cheers you lot,

Dave

Worth the 22 I think. Much nicer whiter lighter than Led bulbs. And it works.

A nicer whiter light? You do realise that they both use white LED's?

I have the bulbs linked i nthe opening post in my Pre-FL FR and they're faultless, More than bright enough, any brighter and it would look stupid. Can't help with the FL/CANBUS issue.

Yeah I know they both led's. But some led's have a more blueish tint to them. Just saying these are pure white that's all.

I have a 2010 LCR and have tried many different types and not one has worked without error regardless of claims made by the seller.

I've got to the stage now where I have them fitted and just live with the warning light, until I find a definitive fix that doesn't require fudging the original wiring that's probably how it will stay.

It's not really fudging the wiring Crafoo, it's just... adding an extra bulb :) easily removable at any stage, just undo the Scotch lock connector and wrap some electrical tape around it to secure it, sorted.

I swear it's the easiest way to ensure no canbus errors! I'll do it for you at the next meet ;) or at least show you mine anyway!

I hear what you're saying but I don't want to add anything to the setup that isn't there already, I know I'm awkward lol but I just want to replace the standard bulb with LED's and that be the end of it, so until a direct replacement is made (if that ever happens) then I'll just make do with the warning light being on.

It's just a personal thing but I just want a plug and play option :)

Also that method won't tell you when one of the LED's has failed but it will tell you when one of the normal bulbs has failed, it's the opposite of want I'd want lol

Fair enough :) I understand what you're saying!

And no it doesn't, but I park underground and my lights are on auto, they're always on, so when I go to the boot I can see that both LEDs are still on anyway, so it works for me!
