Led canbus number plate bulbs??

Hey guys,

So i've read and read and read the forum before posting this but can't get a difinitive/recent answer.

We have all experienced the "canbus" apparently "error-free" LED bulbs haven't we!? and they still throw up the dash warning light. I am fully aware of resistors and don't want to have to fit them. I just want a set of WORKING LED Canbus friendly bulbs for the number plates. (can't understand why SEAT didn't just do this from stock like but hey) anyway, i've found these.....

http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/xtec-c5...r-plate-bulbs/

XTEC 9SMD bulbs with built in Canbus friendly heat sink.

Now the question i would like answered is this, "do they work and NOT throw up the error light"?? as I am well aware ALL the LED number plate lights actually WORK but it's the error light i don't want.

By the way I have a Leon Supercopa 2012 so is the facelift and has the latest software and CANBUS fitted. (more of a nightmare than ever)

Cheers you lot,

Dave

Yes they do work, and yes they do occasionally throw a warning but a cycle of the headlight selector clears it. This only happens on cold mornings must be to do with battery drop.

I bought mine from HID's Direct and they work spot on with no error light.
Not sure if they are the exact ones you posted, but they are very helpful and should sort you out with any problems you may have :)

Cheers Robbo - ordered them today so we'll see. Dealt with HID's-Direct loads of times and you're right, they will sort it out if they don't work so at least i have that. You mind me asking if your's is pre facelift? seems to make a difference on whether there is an error light displaying or not.....

Tried 3 or 4 different types myself for the number plate, no joy with any.

I know there are options like adding resistors or scotch locking the original bulbs in, but that's a fudge rather than a fix imo.

I might have a go with these if they are happy to replace or refund if they don't work but it'll be my last attempt before just giving up totally I think, bored of trying now lol.

For reference I have a 2010 Mk2 Leon

yep.....BULB ERROR LIGHT ON!!!! absolutely fed up now so just leaving them standard!

They work and shine brilliantly but i'm not driving a brand new leon round with a bulb error light on.

Oh really! When will we find one that does not throw up the error light, im pretty sure there are people that have them working fine, might be luck of the draw

It seems to be those with pre facelifts that work pal. Perhaps the Post facelifts have a different version of CANBUS? though I could just be all wrong there. Either way it's annoying. I just don't want to have to fit resistors and have no friggin' clue what "scotch locking" is :shrug:

Yea I think it is.

Nope I don't no what scotch locking is either! And we may have to use resistors.
