I have a 1.4 se 2009 Ibiza, is it possible to activate leaving home lights through Vag-com?

Would like to know this to? I have a 2011 bocanegra,

I have a 2011 Audi a3 sline blackedition with xenons without auto lights and you can get a repair wire and connect it in the fuse box then activate it with vcds(vagcom) but I've yet to come across on for the ibiza 6J

I'd think so.

That's cheap....! Needs fitting too, so that'd be interesting to see what SEAT want for that

I'd think so.

Actually no :(

The retrofit kit is a strange solution, comprising of another light sensor that sits on top of the dashboard. Ideal for cars without the Rain/Light sensor, but for cars that have auto wipers/dimming rear view mirror, this solution works completely independently of that.

Also you do not get a new auto light switch, the auto lights are programmed to work when the switch is set to 0.

Basically the cars ECU is completely unaware that this retrofit kit is fitted, so you would still have no leaving home headlights, as the light sensor is not connected to the convenience module.

At the very least you would need the proper rain/light sensor fitted to cars with auto wipers. Skoda guys figured out you needed an extra wire and an auto light switch to get leaving home active, but no one has done it yet on an Ibiza.

I was following a thread on a german forum here - http://www.seatforum.de/forum/showthread.php?t=44132&page=11

Coming home lights can be enabled in vagcom without the need for any light sensor.

So would I just have to get it enabled on vagcom or is it a lot of work and hassle to get them working ?

Coming home lights (where you switch off the ignition, flash the full beam, and open the door and the lights will stay on for 30 secs or so) can be enabled via vagcom. Should be already enabled on any models that were SE and above I think.

Leaving home, where the headlights come on when the car is unlocked and it is dark, is unknown. I have auto wipers, and therefore the rain/light sensor but I do not have auto headlights, and enabling leaving home in vagcom has no effect. So i can only assume that the auto lights functionality is needed too.

Now as to whether auto lights could be enabled by simply buying the auto light switch and enabling the feature in vagcom is an unknown. At £100 quid i don't fancy buying the swtich just incase it doesnt work.
