Im sorry if this is covered somewhere else but i have searched cant find anything.

Last week i changed coolant, temp senser, spark plugs and air filters.

For the past week i have noticed little rainbow coloured patches wherever i park, and after an attempted trip to Dublin today i stopped for a break and noticed steam from the front, reversed into a parking space to have a look and noticed a large rainbow coloured streak following my car through the car park.

After opening the bonnet there was something brown dripping out of the air box on top of the engine (a little runnier than oil)

Apart from this the car is running fine and i have been able to get home. After opening the air box one air filter is completely soaked and the other is bone dry

Any ideas what is wrong? As far as i can see i had connected all hoses etc back up when putting the air box back on last week

Is you car overheating?

My 1.4 was leaking oil into the filter when it was overheating. Turned out to be dodgy wiring on the radiator fans. Had to take it to SEAT as no one could diagnose it. Thakfully it was only £125 to fix.

leave it on tick over to see if your fans kick in if you think over heating is the problem and if the fans dont seem to kick in check the fuse on top of the battery

It isnt overheating and the fan is kicking in. There is a small pipe on the right hand side of the air box which i think may have been the problem, whatever was going in to the right hand air filter was probably coming from that pipe.

Whats that pipe for?

I changed the air filters last night and drove into work today and so far so good

correct.
maybe a catch tank is something you should think about. A few threads down there is a 11 page topic on them. Have a look at I think the first or second page where Philw shows whats being collected inside the catch tank.
I think you'll notice it looks a lot like whats coming out of your airfilter

Grrrrr its happening again :(

Not to the extent of the last time just yet though when it is a constant drip, last night it was an infrequent drip

Havnt had a chance to take the air box off again but im assuming one of the air filters is going to be soaking again

My oil level has went right down and it is def coming from the breather, fuses for fan ok but changed anyway and fan working

What happens if i disconnected the breather pipe so that what ever is coming out of it dosnt go to the air filter?

No one seems to know what the problem is so maybe garage is the next step :(

sounds like you have a head problem mate sounds like back pressure pumping oil up through the inlet manifold get it to a garage

mine is doing the same thing, the throttle butterfly was black! I think the fault maybe is with the PCV valve I will post back if it cures the problem.
