Sounds like a bearing to me

Does it make the sound turning either way?

I have got a LC and i have the same problem. Does it make the noise more at low speads, i.e between 5 and 30? i seem to find that if i slightly put the brakes on it stops so im not to sure if it is the pads.
Mine is worse as i turn to the right and only seems to be coming from the passenger side front and i get it more after a long journey.

Have you had the tracking done? That can be knocked out very easily and could be causing the tyres to whine? To eliminate the wheel bearing jack the car up and rock the wheel top to bottom and see if theres any play, if there is loads then its fooooked!

Depends what you class as whining really. They will make a rubbing sound if done incorrectly, almost like tyre scretching. It maybe that something is caught in your arch? Maybe a but of plastic rubbing on the tyre when you turn it? Best thing to do is look at the tyres and see if there is any odd patches on them

I have got this exact same problem on my LCR '04', whining from passenger side, had GSD 3's fitted about 4 months ago, thought it might be a wheel bearing? Haven't really had time to get it checked out properly but its really buggin me cause Im listening for it every time I drive the car!

I think that i am going to take mine into the garage and get it looked at tomorrow. I am quite sure that it is going to be the bearing as a lot of people are mentioning this and the pads and tyres look to be in good condition.

Will let you know my findings!!!
