Car has been back several times to have the squeaking brakes repaired they have fitted new front disks and pads removed and cleaned the rear but they still squeak like a f*cker, Have been informed that they know of a fault with them rattling and they have tried to say it is partly to do with this (sorry not convinced)

has anyone else had this problem and did they manage to sort it ??

Squeaking brake = F*cking anoying

Cheers

I had this badly, put it down to worn out discs and pads. But continues very slightly on new discs and pads. Spoke to Seat both this and they recommended removing the pads and putting a light coat of copper grease on the back and edge of the pads and on the retaining bracket and pins. Gonna do this at some point and see if it makes a difference. Sounds sensible....??

This is a "feature" of the LCR. ;)

Copper grease apparently works.

btw: If you remap your car please send some vids vs the D3 :D

Our rears are terrible when reversing! Car's done just over 3k from new and it's getting worse. I know 'they all do it' so haven't bothered raising it with the dealer as yet. If it gets any worse I will, otherwise it can wait till the first service.

I'm pretty light on brakes, so I know I haven't cooked them!

Ditto, have tried braking harder to clean them up and no joy. My 05 plate is much worse than the 53 plate I used to have for this issue. They are also much worse when reversing after they have been used. Cold they are obvioulsly unheated. Keep meaning to whip them out but can't help feeling on a new car I shouldn't have to :censored: :censored: What's worse is it seems to be getting louder all the time.

Sounds like yours is exactly the same as mine! My wife drives off to work in the morning and wakes the dead backing out of our parking space.....and that is just the back brakes, before anyone makes any other suggestions :)

Ours seem better when warm - the noise isn't quite as piercing at least.

I thought they'd 'fixed' this on later cars from the factory? Mine only came off the line in January/early Feb and was registered in late April so it's not old stock

I've got exactly the same thing on my 05 FR and I've only done 1.5k and it seems to be getting worse -in reverse and the brakes squeal. My car was inspected (PDI) in UK Dec 2004, registered June 05. Dont know if that 5+ month gap did any harm..? Though it should be getting better not worse.

My Brembo's sqeak lie a bitch, however i feel it may be cos i cooked em at the nurburgring, so new discs and pads maybe needed soon. Still the best brakes money can buy in my opinion and if it means i have a little squeaking to put up with then so be it.

seen this alot normally down to glazing of the pads and discs(driving like a fanny)
good hard braking followed by power wash does the job

Although my rear brakes squeak a little when pulling to a stop going forwads, the main problem for me is when reversing. Has anyone got one of these handbrake cables to fix the fault?

"Its because the pads dont have anti-squeal pads" - Can you get these for the LCR??
