Hey Guys I need some inspiration, as my 180 Cupra has given me 7 years of great service, but now I'm looking at changing it for a newer model MK1.
Today I went to a local dealer, and found two great looking cars. One was a 55 plate Cupra R (31,000miles) in my favourite colour Black Magic, and a 05 plate FR 150 (26,000mls) again in Black Magic.
Took them both for a test drive. Loved the performance of the LCR, and the sound, but also liked the FR. The FR felt pretty good performance wise compared to my 180 Cupra.
It does kick out some smoke when hitting the pedal hard, but apparently this is normal with these engines compared to the clean burning MK2 FR's, which don't show much smoke at all. (Dealer quote)
They both look great with the body kits, but I can't decide yet!
LCR is £500 more, and both with 12mths warranty.
My heart says Cupra R, but my head says FR.
Ultimately it's down to economics, as obviously the diesel engine is going to be cheaper to run, insure, road tax etc... etc..., but I don't want to be thinking "should have gone for the LCR"
Any good and bad points with either of these models? - something to look out for????
I notice Stuart86's profile picture shows what looks like an FR, but seems to be a Tdi SE 110bhp. Looks great.
My Cupra 180 doesn't have the body kit, so either of the two models I've seen has the 'desired effect' from my point of view on looks alone.
FR or LCR?.........aaaghhh!!!
