LCR - Is the dash illumination suppose to be on all the time?

On my LCR, the dash, climate control and stereo illumination comes on the moment you start the engine. This is different on the cars I've owned in the past when they only come on when the headlights are turned on. Just wondering if this is suppose to be normal

Yarp! Being on all the time is normal.

simple answer...yeppy.....this caught me out a few times when i first bought the car

yeah it fooled me once or twice when not driving with any lighting on at night.....
