Had the usual rear suspension creak when going over bumps:( same as you guys, only happens when its wet, raining etc.

done a few searches but that revealed nothing apart from people turing up their stereos to drown out the noise  not convinced any dealers have fixed this have they??:help:

Anyway cars booked in for Tuesday 14th at Coupers, St Albans so I'll post up any fixes that the dealer comes up with............. providing they work

I had this on my original 20vt, the dealers fixed it. I also have it on the LCR but it doesn't bother me enough to get the dealers to look at it. I can't remember what it was they did to fix it on the 20vt.

I had the same prob and it turned out to be as simple as above. Took about 25 mins. Only happened on my car when it was dry, rather than wet. I couldn't stand the noise - really pi$$ed me off! :rifle:

Got it on my LCR with only 1800 miles on the clock.

It is there in both wet and dry and there is a 'clunk' noise from the rear suspension when you hit a bump in the road.

Will get it booked in pretty soon...

result!! at least there is a solution out there :)

just sounds like a rubber bush needs lubing from the sound, but they want the car for the whole day, still as long as it comes back silent

mine defo only happens when its wet, the recent cold, dry spell we had it was silent, seems like there is the odd variation on the problem car to car

Mine is only 5 weeks old and is exactly the same in the dry fine but in the wet over speed bumps creeks really bad would be handy to know what the dealer say?

EXACTLY what my dealer said to me! Trouble is, when you say "noise from suspension" they do need the car all day just to make sure it's nothing more severe that requires more than a "while you wait" visit! No good if they get it on the ramp and a shocker drops off! lol

Mine did it, rain or shine, creak sometimes, clunk others! Bit of lube sorted it no problem!

Common to the range.

This is the advice SEAT Technical have apparently given dealers.

Looks like a bit of lube is all that is required rather than new mounts!

Collected the car at lunch time today, doesn't sound like they did a lot.

Says on the warranty repairs form that they and I quote "lubricated rear suspension and seat catches" tried pushing them for more info, both over the phone and when I got there as it sounded vague  but they just said the technician lubricated everything........... whats everything

as it was lunch time, I didn't have time to really push them for info and started loosing interest anyway. Problem still isn't 100% fixed, went over the speed bumps back at work and the creak is still there, only not as loud.

Sorry chaps, still no definitive answer to this common problem

Common problem on Octavia RS.... ARB bushings AFIK

Pretty sure the LCR doen't have a roll bar on the rear though

It's nothing new i'm afraid, SEAT response is  .............Keep an eye on the tyres and shocks though for signs the shocks are going (mine went before 40k Miles IIRC)

All good advice mate :) Think I read a post the other day with that problem, I'm hopefully a way off tho, cars only done 1k miles

Be good to see what your dealers do then, hopefully produce a more comprehensive list of work carried out as well.

Mine defo still creaks over the speed bumps at work  just lost interest in sorting it now, may try another dealer few months down the line
