LCR CD changer

How do you remove this is there any special tools i need or does it just unscrew and out it comes as i want to put a different cd changer in and does anyone know if the a sony cdx-T69 will fit into the back of the standard head unit

cheers scotty i guess i will just have to try and plug it in and see if it fits is it a pain in the arse job or not

No just pull the stock radio out first (just use an old chopped up credit card to get it out) and see if it plugs in and works. Should take about 5 min to test

i guess the two holes at the bottom of the standard head unit are where i slide my "chopped up credit card" into then yeah

May i ask why you would want to change the changer but not the actual stereo?

Seems a bit irish to me:blink: ;)

Its the stereo that needs changing, its garbage! Whats the point in changing the changer, without uprating the stereo?

basically i have my old cd changer from old car kicking around annd on quite a few occasions the current cd changer just doesnt want to read certain discs and these are proper cds from hmv that it just doesnt read and i will one day change the main head unit but want to get my exhaust before i do that

Be careful with the credit card 'trick', I never managed to get it to work when I tried it, ended up bending the clips out (not irrepairably) in doing so :-s

Luckily knew someone that had the proper tool from a Golf Gamma head unit... which again I think is similar but not perfect as that didn't work as easily as it should have done...

As for the changer, you'll need to pull off the surround then there's two torx screws and that's your lot.
