LCR Camber Adjustment

Hi guys,

I know this has been covered before but i couldnt find a definitive answer. Does anyone know if (and how) the front camber can be adjusted on a cupra R.

Is there anybody that has had their camber adjusted and recommend any garages. I have it booked in for SEAT but i doubt they will be able to do anything.

Cheers for any responses

No drifting to the left, but my front tyres are wearing seriously on the insides. Just had 3 allignment checks done, and everytime the results were very different! The garage is blaming a knackered suspension component saying thir equipment is working fine....it all seems very odd.

The camber can be slightly adjusted via the bottom ball joint, the holes are slightly elongated allowing 'fine' adjustment.

my last set of tyres did this
they put it down to the tracking but when they checked it they said it was only slightly off

have you had yours sorted yet?

No not yet, it appears the computer allignment place iwas using for my tracking and camber stuff were pretty useless (or the equipment was). As i said, 3 completely different sets of values for the camber and the toe in on all four wheels.

I'm taking it to more highly recommended place with a full computery thingy tomorrow. I'll let you know how i get on.

I've just fitted some new toyo t1-r's on the front (as opposed to the falkens that wore really badly on the inside) so i'll keep an eye on them for wear.

How badly did yours wear, mine were like a chmafer on the inside of the tyre. Also, have u had any problems with ur new tyres.

loads mate, it was shocking, i originally went to get them moved to the back of the car and put the rears on the front (which i was also advised against)

anyway , they told me to put the wheel on full lock and then i saw just how bad they were! had to have new tyres

New ones have only done about 300 miles, but it still pulls to the left, not as bad as before now they played with tracking
.
I'll be interested to hear what the place says as the garage i went too was full of YTS kids who knew jack

I had 2 spare alloys with P zero's on, i've put these on the front of the car and the pull to the left seems to be worse now
:(

if you get this sorted please let me know what does it as it's doing my head in now.

funny this thread is floating aroudn at the minute, i just had a 4 wheel alignment done on my lcr this afternoon. both my frotn tyres are bald on the inner edge. Only done 4k or so on them.

took it to a decent place, and they showed me how much everythign was out by. Tracking was out on both wheels so he adjusted that, but he also mentioned about the camber on the front wheels. both were out, did mention adjusting the subframe but it wouldn't resolve the issue as it would give one side too much camber then if you can understand that.

another thign he pointed out was that the rear beam was out of alignment, casuing the rear wheels to steer left. he couldn't do this, but its in for a service next month so i;m gona try and get them to sort it.

steering feels alot better since it's been done anyway which is the main thing. hopefully stop the scrubbing on the front too.

was only £20 lol.

mite be cheaper trying to find a decent tyre / wheel specialist in your area first. but i'd def reccommend protyre if you can't.

i had mine done last year and the tracking and camber were also out... the tracking was corrected but they left the camber... as i scrubbed my inner nearside front tyre again i can only assume its the camber causing the problem...

im going to aps on friday and also having two new GSD3's put on so hopefully all will be well come saturday :)

ah yet another "to the left" thread.... wondering if Beyonce was singing about the Leon sometimes........... lol ;)

Anyway, very common issue - i have this as well as another nasty issue - see the thread of mine in the Leon section..... My car DID drive dead straight for about 6-10months... but since new tyres fitted last saturday (same brand/model of tyre as before - gsd3) the problem has reappeared (along with another issue)

I'm having to get the balljoints etc checked to see if we can figure out what the problem is.
