I would like to add some weight to this request also. I have been trying to get some quotes for a cambelt change and wondered if anyone could supply me with the part numbers for a 2004 LCR - BAM engine?

- Full cambelt kit
- Waterpump (metal impellors?)

Thanks,
Rob.

Hello,
The Cam belt kit should come with all the tensioners e.t.c.
I have not seen a waterpump with metal impellers? have worked for VW/Audi/Seat for combined 18 years. They have the plastic impellers so if the coolant was to freeze, the impeller would break off rather than the cambelt breaking and bending 20 expensive valves.

06A198119B - cam belt kit £75 +vat
06A121012X - water pump £29 +vat (exchange)

I would charge £260 fitted... this includes above plus antifreeze and ribbed drive belt.

Dealers would charge around 3.5 - 4 hours plus parts ( £450-500 ) not sure on specialists?

Jochen.

It may have changed to the A now? or the A goes to a B when ordered? I would go with the Dealer as they should? have the latest ETKA version with the updated part numbers e.t.c.
Kez, out of interest, are we talking about a genuine exchange vw/audi waterpumps or aftermarket versions? its just I personally have never seen or fitted a 20v turbo water pump fitted with metal impellors.
Regards,
Jochen.

Hi cruising03uk.
Sounds like a cooling fan or waterpump problem, I would check the fans run when the aircon is on, and try and see if you can see water being pumped into the expansion bottle through the little pipe when the engine is idling.
Regards,
Jochen.
