Anyone know the paint code (I know i'm a lazy git!) of a black, March 2003 LCR?

Is it only available from SEAT or will Halfrauds keep me happy?

Cheers,

Russ

tbh, dont think ur dealer will be able to help.

If its a spray can u want, they have stopped a lot of em now, only do the touchup pens.
Halfrauds are excellent for paint match.

Cant help with ur code tho, sorry.

It's probably L041 (for Ebony Black), but don't blame me if you spray that on and it's wrong ;)

I've recently had a can made up in Hellfrauds, cost £9.99 and took about 10 minutes.

Ok folks, asked the dealer about this, and they phoned Seat Technical on my behalf as well...

Paint code is 041 without the L at the beginning. Seat will only supply touch-up pens as well. Also, the colour is on the Seat systems as "Black" and not "Ebony" or "Ebony Black".

I tried Halfords for some paint, and under no description could they mix me any paint...

What my dealer recommends, is to go to an independant paint specialist / mixer and get it mixed there :)

I have the can sat next to me, as I type.

I don't know if all Halfords do it, but I don't see why not; look near the parts desk for a shelf of bottles of 'colour', empty cans, a computer and a mixing unit. The guy there had no problem finding L041 (described as 'Nero', as the software is in Italian for some bizarre reason), and said come back in 10 minutes whilst he made it up.

A quick Google for 'L041 black' shows up many relevant results; including that VW campers used it as far back as the early '70s;
