My LCR is going through a difficult phase at the moment. [:@]

Probs:

1. Slow fans died - fixed at the weekend
2. Lopsided rear suspension
3. Rear washer has started to follow the blade
4. Strange whine from wheels when setting off in the wet (brake related)
5. Rubbing/vibration when steering at full lock (only when cold)

Needs:

1. Front pads and disks, possibly rear as well.
2. 60K service

Going to be an expensive month...

Still puts a huge smile on my face though! :D

Tell me about it!

Had to get 4 new tyres, brake discs and pads all round, 40k service, front wishbones and now the bloody boot locking mechanism has started to play up!

Think I'll just have to avoid the boot for a while.

As you said though, it deffo worth it :D

Its been a nasty month for me too...

cambelt, waterpump and service £600
Discs, pads, hoses, fitting etc £600
MOT + bits to get it through £150
Tax £200
HIDs £60

AND my insurance in 2 months.
Still, as said above the smile on my face makes it all go away... :D

Didn't expect it to be a cheap runaround :D

Hopefully throwing some cash at it now will set it up good for another 50K miles (apart from brakes and tyres, obviously).

Try and think of the brakes as wheels off then 2 allen key bolts (7mm) and a screw plus screwdriver to flick a wire spring thing off plus the discs and pads from German Swedish. Less than £100 would have thought all in. Stealer will try and scrape £250+ out of you. Their discs must be made of solid gold or something... Rears cost about £70 all in I think. Guides on here are excellent and even a ham fisted breaker bar wielding swing off like a monkey to apply 10nm clown like me can do it.

Been a pricey month for me as well :(

Brake switch, new discs + pads at back (£70 ish), used (<500 mile) TT carriers, discs, pads at front (paid £200 for carriers, calipers, discs f+r, pads f+r low usage look new on car now) two new tyres today £180.

Coming up to 40k service, MOT, road tax time. Never rains but it pours ...

i took my rear wiper motor off today and the reason the jet was following the wiper was because the small pipe inside had seized and snaped.

because it has snaped, some of the water has been leaking into the boot

i have fixed it for now with some rubber pipe, here are a few pics that mite make it clearer

but, on the right day and the right road its all worth it!

Sorry to dig up this old thread of mine...

Now had all of my problems fixed, LCR now running at 100%!

Cost...£1250.

Cambelt, waterpump, tensioners, 60K service, 2 CV gaiters, 2 rear shocks, n/s front strut top, OEM rear pads/discs, EBC Turbo Grooved front discs, Ferodo DS2500 front pads.

Still loving it :D
