LCR alarm playing up... again! Please help

The alarm on MY05 LCR is playing up again, usually by going off intermittently at the most inappropriate times, like 04:20am. This is the 4th time it's happened now, and after last night, the second time it's been into the stealers about it.

Last time I took it in, I searched SCN first and was fairly confident it's was the leaky rear washer problem as I'd just driven back to London from Manchester using the rear washer constantly in the cack weather. I told the stealers about this issue they kept the car for a week, in which they:
1) Stuck it on VAG-COM - no error codes showing.
2) Took all the boot casing off - no water, dampness or water marks inside anywhere.
3) Found an odd problem with the passenger side interior light where it came on by it's own accord one day whilst the car was in there.

Result - they changed the interior light unit and said fingers crossed that solves the problem.... that was about a month ago. Then it happened again for over 2 hrs last night, until I could get home a disconnect the battery. Basically the alram goes off, you unlock the car using the key fob, 10 seconds later it re-locks/re-arms and then the alarm can go off anywhere from instantly to 20 mins later. I even resorted in the middle of one night to unlock the car, key in ignition, back out again, then shut the door leaving it unlocked - it relocked about an hour later and the alarm went off again.

So, it's gone back into the stealers again this morning & I spoke to the same guy as last time, who isn't very confident they can resolve it, at least not easily, especially considering it hasn't rained this week and we haven't used the rear screen washer. This whole situation isn't doing me & the Mrs any favours with the neighbours either.

The stealers also never have *any* courtesy cars available when I go in, citing 2 weeks as the earliest each time (he even showed me their C-car booking sheet), so I have a couple of questions for the collective mind...

1) Any ideas what the problem could be, other than the known rear screen washer leaking problem?
2) Any ideas how I can get them to cough up a courtesy car or pay for a hire car?
3) If this goes unresolved again and the problem persists - what can I do to get Seat to sort it out? What are the conditions when a car is classed as a lemon or replaced (I know I'm goign out on a limb here)

I look forward to hearing from you all, because I've had enough now.

Overalll, not happy... the bloody thing is only 8 months old!!

I don't think it's a seal, as I'v checked them all and they look in good order, plus I've turned the internal volumetric sensor off and the alram still plays up as previously

Is your rear wash wipe working properly???

Very common for the pipe to the rear washer to become loose/broken inside the tailgate and spray the bootlock/latch with water......the alarm is not amused ;)
I don't know, you try to appease the Forum gods by using 'Search' and putting all the relevant info in your posting....and they don't even read it! ;)

Sorry Rudd, I couldn't resist... I discussed the rear washer leak issue (in some detail) with the stealer, and they had the boot casing off, tested the rear washer... no leaks, no water marks from previous leaks, nothing. I wish it had been that, at least it would've been easy to fix! Plus the stealer reckons that if it had been dropping water onto the boot latch (or bonnet switch - Cupra Steve) it would have shown up on VAG-Com anyway, but that was showing no fault codes anywhere

I might be wrong but I think you can disable the interior sensors in VAG COM, maybe worth giving that a go to rule out wind / cats etc. It happened to me a couple of times until I realised a daddy long legs insect thing had set up home in my FR.

All sorted, finally!

I had tried turning off the internal sensors with the switch on the drivers side door post, but with no joy.

It turns out VAG-COM did show a fault this time when the stealers had it - faulty internal roof sensor. Both roof sensors were replaced and we haven't had any further problems.

found 2 or 3 leons now with water contamination in passenger side rear. were your boot light is behind the cover, screen wash pipes blow of there too. and there are 3 or 4 block connecters in there all full of water!!!. need to pull block connectors apart and check. seems to cure alarm faults.
