LCR 40K service - Camberley Seat

Done a search but didn't really find what I was looking for.

Does anyone know exactily what is covered by the 40K service and the cost at Camberley Seat Service Centre??

I'm taking a guess at the following:
Oil & Filter
Fuel Filter
Pollen Filter
Spark Plugs
Inspection
Air Filter (Got a Neuspeed so won't be needed)
Break fluid (Replaced with high performance in April so won't be needed)

Can anyone think of anything else?? This will be it's 4th service and the car is at 39K miles and has only done 5K miles since last November.

I replaced the all the pads and break fluid in April, the tyres and all disks have covered about 7K so i'm not expecting any massive bills or shocks.

Just had my 40k on my LC, so shouldn't be too different. Your right on the above. Not sure on cost at yoir dealer but I paid £207 after a 10% discount at my dealer.

Only thing I would add is that my dealer has said that Seat has revised down the timing belt and tensioner interval to 4 years/ 40k. I've still to get this done and they're quoting £290.

I have the full service items list. I will try and post it up tonight...

My 40K is up soon and I have done the following myself, because its cheaper and you know it gets done by someone who actually cares for the car...

1. Spark plugs
2. Aircon Service (including panel filter)
3. Brake overhaul (including fluid change)
4. Air filter not required (washable one fitted)
5. Coolant change
6. Fill widscreen wash up so they can't do it and scam you
7. Oil and filter change (I do mine every 5k)

My local service centre don't have a problem with this. I will be finding out soon how much this will cut off the cost of the service, but a recon £150 at least.

Thanks for the above, thats ace. If you can get the service items list up thats you be great. I phone Camb Seat this morning and the quoted me £340 for the service and MOT :wtf: :-o

Eeek my car's done 47k now (3 years old) and not had a Cam Belt. Fully signed up main dealer service history!

Well my car is under an extended warranty so if it goes bang then it's get sorted!

I have no modifications and servicing is all up to date.

I called another dealer today re the cambelt and they told me the interval was 6 years/ 60k miles. Seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding this.

Sorry it took so long.... Here is the service schedule for a 1.8T leon 2001-2004

This is the 60,000km or 40,000 mile major service. 1.9 hours listed labour time.

An additional item is to replace brake fluid every 24,000km.

I have done anything where is says to renew.

On the timing belt.... should be checked for wear/damage at 90,000km, 120,000km and 150,000 km. Replaced after 4 years or 180,000km which ever is sooner.

How often does the cambelt change question come up? The intervals vary from engine to engine and also depends on age of the car. Some older cars need changing at 40K, more modern ones at 80K or even 120K for petrol models.

However it is about to be simplified since SEAT UK are about to join Skoda in recommending that ALL cambelts should be changed at 4 years regardless of mileage. If you are a high mileage driver the intervals may still be relevant but for most people now a cambelt should be changed every 4 years.

Thats great, thanks mate. Most of the checkes would be done with an MOT so I think i'm just gonna do all fluids and plugs myself and go for a nowmal service and MOT.
